This Sunday’s match for current league leaders 2e2 Jets was crucial, as they knew that a victory would guarantee them winning the league!

The first two sets went very much 2e2’s way with strong, consistant serving by Gemma Coles and Izabella Gawlicka, making it difficult for Jackson Juniors to build up an attack and 2e2 took the sets 25-6 and 25-7.

The third set saw a change of line up for Jackson Juniors and they came out determined to turn the match around, taking an early lead 5-1. 2e2 fought back with strong serving by Wendy Burnett to take the score to 7-5. However, Jackson’s Tanguy Tomes and Jordan Hampton put 2e2 under pressure with some aggressive attacking at the net and despite some solid defence by 2e2’s libero player, Nicki Appleton and strong hitting by Dominika Thomas, 2e2 were unable to retain the lead, with Jacksons taking the set 25-18.

2e2 made some changes in the fourth set and took an early lead. Despite some good setting by Emily Crichard, Jackson Juniors were unable to find the form of the third set . 2e2 took the game 25-9 and the match 3-1, making them the ladies league champions, unbeaten so far this season, with one match remaining.
