There were two matches in both the mens and womens league this Sunday, with the highlight being the clash of first and second placed teams in the Ladies League. A classic five set thriller between Jacksons Jets and 2e2 Tigers, currently unbeaten produced some superb volleyball. 2e2 Tigers took the first two sets 25-13 and 25-23, so it seemed that Jets had started slow but were fighting back at the end of the second set; this enabled them to take the next two sets 25-18 and 25-19, so the momentum had changed to their favour, and this continued in the fifth with Jacksons Jets taking the match 15-7. The second match in the Ladies league was 2e2 Panthers against Jersey Juniors, and a shock start with amazing volleyball, gave the Juniors the set 25-20. Panthers then changed their line up and were able to recover and take the next three sets and the match 25-13, 25-18 and 25-16. But another fantastic display from the Jersey Juniors bodes well for the end of the season and the Inter Insulars. In the Mens League, the Island Ladies fresh from their trip to St Malo played a brilliant game against a JVA team, and two of the sets were incredible close; final scores: 26-24, 25-11 and 25-21 to the JVA Men. The final match of the afternoon matched current leaders Airtel Vodafone Sandkickers against second place Pentagon Red Hot Tomatoes, and the first three sets were brilliant, with Sandkickers taking set one 25-21, then Tomatoes set two in 25-23 before Sandkickers took the next two and the match 25-21, 25-12. A long but amazing day of volleyball as the season gradually reaches its climax at the end of April Island Teams travel to St Malo: A day trip to St Malo proved a worthwhile trip for Jersey’s men and women, as they played some excellent voleyball against the local team, who make the annual trip to Jersey each year to play in the Open Tournament. Despite both teams losing 3-1 the level and standard that St Malo can produce is great for Jersey as theu prepare for the Inter Insulars and the Island Games. Womens Team = Nicki Appleton, Wnedy Burnett, Ann Cadiou, Sally Hall, Paula Hindley, Dominika Izdebska, Laura Morel, Ania Ryszawy, Karolina Zablocka Men Teams = Paul Adamson, Stuart Black, Alan Caser, Dave Davies, Leo Figueira, Daniel Grigoras, Matthew Morel, Marco Perreira, Mick Toal
